Pitched as a memoir and guide, Jim Rees looks at the psychology of determination and how we can overcome our personal demons in many ways.

However, this does make the book slightly confusing.

For someone hoping to read a story about cycling and racing, the book leans too much towards the life element of the synopsis. There is a little too much fluff and advice about dealing with personal struggles, compared to the grit and magic of the road.

That said, it is inspiring and shows that no matter where we come from, we have the power to do great things.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

We received a copy of the book from the PR company. Opinions our own.
